QWO® Cellulite INJECTIONS

QWO® INJECTABLE CELLULITE TREATMENT

QWO® is a prescription medication. It is FDA cleared for the treatment of moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks in adult women. Much like Botox or Juvéderm, QWO® is a cosmetic injection. Also known as the “cellulite shot,” QWO® is injected into the dimpled regions of the buttocks.

Understanding of Cellulite

Cellulite is a common cosmetic skin condition characterized by a dimpled or lumpy appearance of the skin, particularly around the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen. It occurs when fat deposits push through the connective tissue beneath the skin, causing the skin to appear puckered or bumpy. Cellulite can affect people of all shapes and sizes, and it is more common in women than men.

Frequently Asked Questions

QWO® is a cutting-edge treatment that doesn’t require any cutting! It is an injectable medication used to treat moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

A few patients will notice results as early as one month after the first set of injections.

The full results of a series of 3 QWO® injection treatments will occur by one to two months after the third set of injections. This equates to about 10-14 weeks after the first treatment.

QWO® is new to the market of aesthetic medicine. No long-term follow up studies have been completed at this point.

You can expect your QWO® results to last at least one year, but most likely, much longer.

The pain from QWO® injections is mild. The level of discomfort is similar to Botox or filler injections.

To ensure your comfort, you’ll be given the option of using a topical anesthetic to numb the area. This adds about 30-45 minutes to the treatment time.

The downtime after QWO® treatment is minimal.

It is common to have tenderness and swelling at the injection sites. For a few days after treatments, you’ll receive a reminder that you had injections each time you sit down.

Most patients have significant bruising after treatments. The bruising occurs after each injection session but tends to lessen with each subsequent treatment. You won’t want to wear a bathing suit for a few weeks after receiving QWO® injections due to the bruising.

QWO® patients can resume their exercise routines and normal activities the 24-48 hours after treatment.

Treatment with QWO® for cellulite consists of 3 injection sessions.

Each injection session is spaced 21 days apart.

Up to 24 dimples can be injected per treatment session.

Patients with more severe cellulite may require more than one series of QWO® injections to obtain satisfactory results. Each series consists of three injection sessions.

QWO® injections are not for everyone.

Remember, cellulite affects approximately 90% of females beyond the age of puberty. Thus, it is a normal skin condition.

However, if you are bothered by cellulite and wish to reduce it, you may be a good candidate for QWO® if:

  • You have no skin laxity
  • You are in good overall health
  • You have distinct cellulite dimples
  • You are not significantly overweight*
  • You are a woman with moderate to severe cellulite
  • You are bothered by the effect cellulite has on your appearance
  • You have had liposuction or CoolSculpting to reduce fat but still have cellulite
  • You have realistic expectations (treatment with QWO® reduces dimpling, it doesn’t eliminate it)

You are not a good candidate for Qwo if you:

  • Are pregnant
  • Are breast feeding
  • Have a bleeding disorder
  • Have an allergy to collagenase
  • Have an allergy to any other ingredients in QWO®
  • Have an active infection(s) at the treatment area
  • Have more of a problem with skin laxity than true dimpling cellulite
