Prescription Policy & Safety
GLP-1 and other weight loss medications are prescription-only. A prescription is issued only after a licensed physician reviews your intake, health history, and required lab work and determines treatment is appropriate — a consultation does not guarantee a prescription, and follow-up labs are required to continue therapy.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort; less common but serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and kidney problems. GLP-1 medications carry a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors and should not be used by anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, or during pregnancy. Compounded Medications, Pricing & Refills
When a compounded medication is prescribed, it is prepared by a state-licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, meaning the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are dispensed.
Services are available where our physicians hold an active license, with in-person care in Birmingham and Rochester, Michigan. There are no memberships or recurring charges — you purchase exactly what is prescribed, and refills require physician review. Refunds follow our refund policy, available on request.
